Brush with greatness: At age 12, being in the pool at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Portland ME when several underwear-clad members of the Grateful Dead and a groupie came running in for a swim. We quickly left.

Interesting places I've been: Most recently, Pune, India. Turns out physicists like to have conferences in interesting/exotic places, so I have gotten to tag along to meetings in Hamburg, Munich, Cambridge, and we're going to Hawai'i, Mexico, and New Zealand for upcoming meetings.

Words of wisdom: Get lots of advice before making decisions that will affect the rest of your life (like your college major...:). Ultimately you have to make the decision, but it doesn't hurt to hear from those who have gone before.
