Hobbies: Pro bono political consulting for local candidates. Preschool and church volunteer. Book club (a.k.a. "wine night") with cool women.

Brush with greatness: Met President Bill Clinton several times and have a photo with him in the Rose Garden when he signed the legislation I worked on for natural resources, environmental and agricultural research funding for universities. I have also met Hilary Clinton, Al Gore, and Tipper Gore. Oh, and I met Mark Foley, too, but not online.

Interesting places I've been: Ireland, England, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, France. Hope to visit Africa someday. New Mexico is top of my list in the U.S. The Sand Hills in Western Nebraska are quite amazing.

Other info: My spouse is a staunch Republican, so we have a politically mixed marriage. We moved from Washington DC to Nebraska so our son Jack would grow up near his two sets of grandparents, and that has been wonderful for all of us. We are working on adopting an infant to grow our family.
